About Dr. Ashley Castro

I’m dedicated to providing high-quality mental healthcare for children, teens, and families.
I’ve been in practice for over eight years, and have a passion for providing evidence-based treatments. I have trained in community mental health clinics, hospitals, and schools, working to bring effective care to those who need it most. I have taught third year medical students at Columbia University Medical Center and supervise psychology trainees at Columbia University Teacher’s College.
I am the co-founder and executive director of Healwise (formerly Therapy4thePeople), a nonprofit committed to increasing access to mental healthcare for low-income and underserved communities.
When I’m not helping my patients, I spend my free time exercising, playing with my cat Valentino, watching reality TV, and exploring NYC by foot.
